Did You Know?

Saskatchewan is Canada's sunniest province, averaging from 2,000 to 2,500 hours of sunshine annually.

Learning begins well before a child enters the classroom for the first time. Children’s early years are a time for growth, wonder and discovery. They are also a time when the building blocks for physical well-being, school readiness and social belonging are established. Children hold the promise for continuing social and economic growth of the province.

The Early Learning and Child Care Branch is comprised of Child Care, Early Childhood Education, and Early Childhood Development. The branch provides policy and program direction and advice, financial supports, professional and evaluation supports related to licensed child care, Prekindergarten programs and services, KidsFirst Strategy, and early childhood development initiatives.
