Did You Know? Saskatchewan is Canada's sunniest province, averaging from 2,000 to 2,500 hours of sunshine annually. Early Learning and Child Care Prekindergarten ProgramMinistry of Education's Prekindergarten is a develomentally-appropriate early childhood education program for vulnerable three and four year old children. The program requires a qualified teacher and provides programming for 16 children for a minimum of 12 hours per week. This Prekindergarten program was established in 1996 in collaboration with school divisions. At that time, 26 programs were implemented in community schools in North Battleford, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon. By March 2008, government was supporting 155 Prekindergarten programs in the province. |
